Character: Link
Canon: Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild
Canon point: After freeing the Champions, but before defeating Calamity Ganon
Age: 117 (physically 17)

Background Information:
Here and here are two good ones.

Personality:
I like to describe this iteration of Link as a feral forest gremlin, and some of that is hyperbole, but some of it...isn't. The nature of BOTW means that the player can do a lot of really wild stuff (walk around practically naked, read other peoples' journals, break pots, steal things...) just for the sake of doing it. I wouldn't translate all of these directly to the character being controlled, but the fact that some of these options are available seems, to me, to hint at the depth of personality that Link can have. I like to play around with some of these options in a lighthearted way.

Brave - Courageous - Heroic
"Brave" is kind of the first trait that most people associate with every incarnation of Link. Historically, the character has been the bearer of the Triforce of Courage, so it makes sense. Even before losing his memories, the Link that we see in Breath of the Wild is single-minded in his determination to fulfill his duty as a knight and protect Princess Zelda with his life. Even after he emerges from the Shrine of Resurrection with no memories, he embarks on an intimidating journey without question or hesitation. He faces enemies single-handedly, no matter how much bigger than him they happen to be. He helps people even if they turn out to be assassins in disguise. When he's chosen by the Master Sword, he doesn't hesitate in his duty even once, no matter how impossible it may seem.

Adventurous - Curious - Intrepid
Another thing that unites the different iterations of Link is the journey. Most titles see Link exploring the realm of Hyrule, or even realms outside of Hyrule. Breath of the Wild is no different, but the Hyrule offered in BOTW is significantly more expansive. But Link traverses it all without hesitation. Link's adventure in BOTW sees him leaping from tall heights, traversing rugged terrain, and soaring through the skies.

Sticking their nose into a lot of different things is a pretty common trait for RPG protags, and Link is no different. While he takes on plenty of quests and battles to help people, he also does so in the name of exploration and discovery. While playing the game, there are often situations where you can do things (cooking, puzzles, fighting enemies at a distance, and picking up random rocks, etc) just for the sake of "I wonder what this does?" I tend to play Link with some of this as part of his personality, and feel like the fact that all of this exploration is possible indicates that he really enjoys it.

Thoughtful - Quiet - Guarded
Before his hundred-year sleep in the Shrine of Resurrection, the title of Hyrule's "chosen hero" takes a toll on Link. Knowing that so many people depend on him and look up to him, he exercises a lot of restraint when it comes to expressing how he thinks and feels, and as a result, is very quiet. He falls easily into a support role, protecting the people he cares about and offering a shoulder or a friendly ear -- even if they say they don't need or want it. Because of that, he sometimes has difficulty expressing how he thinks and feels.

Some of this shines through even after he awakens without his memories. After all, it's not like he has a total personality change: he still has some difficulty opening up, expressing his own personal thoughts, and talking about himself. But coming into a time where no one knows him does a whole lot of good in that regard, and he becomes more expressive and lighthearted. ...And kinda sassy. "Sealiously??"

Unflappable - Steadfast - Undeterred
The nature of a silent protagonist means taking a lot of things in stride, no matter how weird, random, or silly they may be, and Link definitely fits that description. The Yiga clan likes bananas? We'll bait them with bananas. Have to crossdress in order to talk to the Gerudo? Sure, can do. Dress in drag and hit on a guy in order to make him like you enough to give you his boots? On it. This version of Link goes through a lot of weird shit, from making potions with lizalfos tails to riding bears and everything in between. He does all of this willingly, in an easygoing way. He doesn't freak out easily.

We're talking about a character who woke up with no memories and decided to climb to the nearest Really Tall Place, just because. Even when he regains his memories and starts to internalize exactly what he's been through, he doesn't let it deter him. Before the rise of Calamity Ganon, much of this steadfastness and determination takes the shape of trying to do his job in spite of Zelda's cold shoulder and Revali's pompousness. Even if Zelda doesn't want him there, even if Revali doesn't think he belongs there, he has a job to do and he does it with or without their help. After the rise of Calamity Ganon, this is done more internally: he deals with the deaths of the Champions, he deals with his own failure, and he pushes forward without hesitation in spite of it all. He does the best that he can, given the circumstances, and he keeps trying without complaint. It's all he can do.

Abilities & Inventory:
Here is a good run-down on Link's abilities. Important bits below:

Champion Powers
Mipha's Grace: restores Link to full health
Revali's Gale: creates a burst of wind that Link can ride using his paraglider
Daruk's Protection: forms a shield that protects Link from any one attack
Urbosa's Fury: summons a burst of lightning
Note: All of these abilities need to be recharged after use. I would say they can't be charged more than once a day at best, but I'm happy to nerf them further if you want me to!

Skills
Link is a skilled swordsman, archer, fighter, weaponist, and survivalist. Even when he's not wearing pants.

Inventory:
Champion's tunic outfit
Master Sword
Hylian Shield
Traveler's Bow and Arrows
Paraglider
In game, Link would canonically have the Sheikah Slate. However, if Zelda has acquired this as a regain, he will not initially have it when arriving.
Whatever random crap's in his pockets. Rupees? Keese eyeballs? Hylian shrooms? A literal whole butterfly??? Thanks, Past Link, these are real helpful.

Suitability & Plans:
This particular Link is very interesting when it comes to taking him out of his game setting. Since part of the core concept of this Link is the difference in his personality before and after he loses his memories in the Shrine of Resurrection, when he's removed from his responsibilities, he becomes a little more free to pursue his own curiosities. He has a lot of interests, and while he can be very quiet, he's also quite outgoing when it comes to trying new things, exploring, meeting people, and helping those in need.

The other thing that makes him interesting to play with is the emotional conflict in Breath of the Wild. At its core, it's a pretty devastatingly sad game about a bunch of kids who are given an almost unbearable weight of responsibility, really try to do the right thing, fail (some fatally), and then have to rebuild themselves in order to try again. This could be really fun to play with specifically in regard to potential canonmates, but processing those feelings and moving past them is also an emotional arc that each character has to go through on their own. Link, Zelda, and the other characters in game have been forced into little boxes of responsibility for much of their lives. In a DWRP setting, they have room to grow as people, rather than just as their titles.
